Dorman Products opens driveshaft manufacturing facility
Dorman Products Inc. has opened a new driveshaft manufacturing facility in Virginia Beach, Va. The facility joins the company’s existing sites in Reno, Nev., and Portland, Tenn., that also design, manufacture, and distribute its 3,600-plus precision steel and aluminum driveshafts and related driveline components in North America.
At 100,000 sq. ft., the new plant is five times the size of the company’s former Virginia Beach site. It includes advanced computer-controlled machine tools, robotic welding, driveshaft balancing equipment, and testing gear for engineering and manufacturing front and rear driveshafts.
