Linde Gas & Equipment donates $50,000 in welding supplies, consumables to Workshop for Warriors

Linde Gas & Equipment Inc., Linde’s U.S. welding, industrial, medical, and specialty gas distribution business in Danbury, Conn., has donated more than $50,000 in welding supplies and consumables to Workshop for Warriors, a nonprofit school that trains, certifies, and helps place veterans, wounded warriors, and transitioning service members into advanced manufacturing careers.

The veteran-owned and -operated school works to rebuild America’s advanced manufacturing workforce while helping service members and veterans successfully transition to long-lasting civilian careers. With a 94% placement rate, WFW graduates wind up working for some of the nation's top manufacturing companies.

“Linde collaborates every day with industry to provide the gases and engineering expertise they need, and it’s a natural fit to provide support for a similar pipeline of highly skilled and motivated workers,” said Jason Moural, Linde Gas & Equipment vice president, sales and marketing. “The fact that we’re helping veterans and wounded warriors makes it all the more important and worthwhile. We’re proud to be a part of this effort.”

Since its inception in 2008, WFW has trained and certified nearly 1,000 veterans and transitioning service members through its four-month program, awarding more than 9,000 nationally recognized third-party credentials in welding and machining.

“We’ve grown over 350 times our original footprint. We’re working on building a brand-new building and constantly looking to expand our ability to train more veterans,” said Workshop for Warriors Marketing Director Adam Jacobs. “That’s why donations like Linde’s are so important, because it allows us to do what we do.”
