Cleveland-based Lincoln Electric Holdings Inc. has promoted Michael J. Whitehead to senior vice president and president, overseeing the strategic planning and growth of the Americas Welding segment’s automation and additive services businesses.

Whitehead joined the company in 2005 as chief counsel, intellectual property and held various positions of increased responsibility including director of new product development in research and development, and president of Lincoln Electric Canada. Most recently he served as senior vice president, strategy and business development. He holds a bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering from The Ohio State University and earned his juris doctor degree from the University of New Hampshire School of Law.

Lincoln Electric manufactures arc welding products, robotic arc welding systems, plasma and oxyfuel cutting equipment, and brazing and soldering alloys.
