Kalamazoo Industries abrasive saw cuts through INCONEL alloy in seconds
Kalamazoo Industries has custom-fabricated an abrasive cutoff saw for a company that needed to cut hundreds of INCONEL® alloy billets fast to meet a customer’s JIT requirements.
The saw cuts the 3-in.-dia. stock in 8 sec., 5-in.-dia. stock in 15 sec., and 7-1/2-in.-dia. stock in 29 sec. The manufacturer equipped the saw, built around the model K36, with a 75-HP motor, a specially formulated wheel, and the newly developed TruArc™ oscillation system for increased cutting speed without burrs.
