Portable plasma cutting package severs metal up to 1-1/4 in.

ESAB has unveiled its new Cutmaster 50+ portable plasma cutting package. It has a recommended pierce and cut capacity of 5/8 in. and severs metal up to 1-1/4 in. With a rated cutting output of 50 amps at 60% duty cycle, the 35.3-lb. unit is available in 110- to 240-V one-phase and 480-V three-phase primary power versions.

The system is compatible with the company’s MechPak for mechanized straightline cutting and gouging applications controlled with a simple start-stop switch. It includes a 180-degree torch and all required hardware to allow precision setup and control for many semiautomated applications.

The package features normal and grate cutting mode, automatic inlet/outlet air pressure detection, automatic postcut air purge to extend consumables life, and an automatic voltage detection function that sets maximum output amperage based on primary power to help optimize cutting.
