Self-adjusting and conventional tank rolls are used to rotate circular parts such as tanks, pressure vessels, tower pipes, and fuel barrels. Units are available up to 300 tons, and machines up to 600 tons can be produced in special cases. The self-adjusting rolls are suitable for applications in which the diameter of the rotating workpieces is variable, such as ovals. The conventional rolls are designed for parts with diameters that are not variable.

Fit-up tank rolls have been developed to position the welding grooves of the parts being joined. Two circular parts can be brought into concentricity easily with this system, the company states. Comprising one fixed unit and one moveable unit on a rail, these rolls allow vertical and horizontal adjustment of the tank or pipe sections before rotating for seam welding operation.
