Multiposition belt grinder delivers 7,200-SPFM belt speed

The Kalamazoo Industries model BG448 is a 4- by 48-in. belt grinder that can be positioned at any point from vertical to horizontal. The 7,200-SFPM belt speed enables quick metal removal with minimal heat.

Suitable for deburring, descaling, round and end, and beveling, the grinder features a 4- by 10-in. workspace that allows full work movement from left to right. The removable platen and worktable convert from slack belt grinding to platen grinding.

The unit has spring-loaded belt tension; quick belt change; an 8- by 4-in., serrated, 70-duro contact wheel; and a 3-HP direct-drive motor available in either 110-V, one phase, or 220-V, three phase. The grinder is available with or without a stand.
