Business leader Bernard Featherman dies

Bernard Featherman

Bernard Featherman, retired president/CEO at Bernard Franklin Co., Western Steel Co., and JBM Equipment Group, died July 14, 2023.

Born May 3, 1929, in Brooklyn, N.Y., Featherman graduated from Bordentown Military Institute in 1947 and earned a bachelor’s degree in business from Temple University. He also attended postgraduate business and law classes at Temple and the University of Pennsylvania.

Featherman served as president of several national business organizations and won numerous awards for his contributions to local groups and charities. He was named the 1977 Executive of the Year by the Association of Steel Distributors and Inc.’s Mid-Atlantic region Entrepreneur of the Year in 1990.
