Victor Rulers of the Flame 2019 student contest emphasizes oxyfuel processes

Victor®, an ESAB brand, has launched its 2019 Rulers of the Flame student contest, which is open to students in cutting, welding, and related programs at secondary, postsecondary, technical, and vocational schools. The company will award more than $50,000 in equipment and cash prizes as part of the contest.

ESAB judges will select three winners in each of the contest’s two categories: individual essay and team fabrication project. Individuals will submit a 500-word essay that best supports the contest theme. Teams will submit a metal fabrication project that incorporates an oxyfuel equipment process (cutting, heating, welding, or brazing) as one or more of the fabrication steps, as well as the Rulers of the Flame logo. Individuals and team members will win $250 and a Victor Medalist 350 outfit, and the school associated with the winning team will receive a cutting and welding package valued at more than $8,400.
