Online SDS delivery service aids REACH compliance

REACH Delivery Intl. has announced the upcoming launch of REACH Delivery, a new online service that enables chemical manufacturers, importers, distributors, and downstream users to guarantee the secure delivery and receipt of Safety Data Sheets (SDS) and associated documentation when they ship chemical substances to customers within Europe — a key requirement of EU REACH legislation.

The launch, open to all companies worldwide, is scheduled for Jan. 10, 2011. The company currently is accepting select clients to start using the system before the formal launch.

The online service enables the electronic delivery, receipt, control, update, audit, and tracking of SDS in line with the REACH regulations. The service is free, with an optional per-document fee for users wanting to send documents externally. Recipients of the SDS and other documents are able to use the service free of charge.

An audit trail of all activities related to users' documents is provided to demonstrate compliance.

Users can distribute the SDS throughout their company, free of charge, to help ensure the latest SDS are being used across the organization.
