Aqueous system cleans turbine blades, other parts with internal bores

MecWash Systems has introduced BladeWash aqueous parts washers. Developed for cleaning the internal cooling channels in turbine blades, the technology also is suitable for use on other parts with internal bores and complex geometries.

Originally designed for turbine blades made of nickel-based super alloys, the washer completely removes the casting media used in the manufacturing process so that the blades may be used in an engine assembly.

The wash process features a high flow rate designed for flushing components. The components are held in a confined wash chamber while water is pumped through and around the components at 265 to 475 GPM, depending on the component and fixturing.
