Stack drill made for aerospace composite/titanium stacks

A new stack drill from Kennametal for aerospace composite/titanium stacks can operate with or without through-coolant for chip evacuation. The B55_DAL drill handles CFRP-metal stacks in hole diameters from 0.1875 to 0.625 in.

The drill can be applied in all combinations of stacks: CFRP-titanium-aluminum, CFRP-titanium, CFRP-aluminum, and straight titanium or aluminum. Its double-angle point design allows excellent centering capability, and the sharp edge cuts and exits cleanly without burrs, says the manufacturer.

Several diameter and length variations are available for all holemaking operations, including those using robots or automated drilling units.
