Aluminum oxide abrasive products meet challenging applications

Norton | Saint-Gobain has expanded its Norton Rapid Prep™ nonwoven surface conditioning product line. The Bear-Tex® portfolio now includes a regular flex (RF) line of aluminum oxide (A/O) products that are suitable for demanding belt and quick-change disc applications.
Combining A/O abrasive grain with a Y-wt. polyester backing, the product offers high durability and flexibility and low stretch characteristics. It incorporates the proprietary Clean Bond™ resin technology for a smear-free finish, helping to eliminate rework process steps and improve productivity, states the manufacturer.
The product line has been designed for use in belt forms. The material is suitable for blending and deburring in such applications as aerospace, metal fabrication, and MRO. The product is available in coarse, medium, fine, and very fine grit sizes and in all commonly used portable and off-hand belt sizes, including special sizes up to 52 in. wide.
