GTAW cold wire feeder allows welder to control wire feeding, torch with one hand

The new WF5 GTAW cold wire feeder is available from CK Worldwide Inc. Automating the feeding of filler metal, it allows the user to control wire feeding with the same hand used to control the torch. An optional cold wire pendant gives the user the familiarity of feeding with the opposite hand.

The feeder contains a dual groove drive roll system that accepts multiple wire sizes. It eliminates GTAW rod stub loss and makes fully automatic machine GTAW possible.

Feeding can be continuous or pulsed. The feed, dwell, delay start, and wire retract times are set using the designated controls on the face of the machine. They are continuously variable.

The unit takes a 12-in. filler wire spool, with wire sizes of 0.023, 0.030, 0.035, 0.045, and 0.0625 in. Feed speed is up to 500 IPM.
