Cost estimating software updated with new features

MTI Systems Inc. has released Costimator® version 12 software for estimating and quoting parts.

The updated material wizard allows users to account for material drop (scrap), minimum lot charges, and surcharges. New cost models include painting, routing, cycle time complete, waterjet, laser, shearing, end facing, and surface work.

Users of SolidWorks® CAM software for print viewing can instantly paste dimensional data into the estimating software. New manufacturing labor rates have been added to the workcenter database, offering OEMs new options to cost parts made in more than 31 countries and nine U.S. regions.

Users can now import data, as well as complete parts, into cost model tables. The export utility provides additional reporting options. The updated part information screen adds flexibility for working with custom fields and for comparing part details.
