Hydraulic drive technology allows energy savings in tube processing

A new development from transfluid has improved the efficiency of hydraulic drives for tube processing. According to the company, the technology allows energy savings up to 70 percent.
The manufacturer implements the controls on the hydraulic pumps using servomotors. The speed and thus the volume flow of the pump is adapted to the required pressure in the new hydraulic drives. The energy losses that are otherwise caused by oil on the pressure valve are avoided. The speed and volume flow also are adjusted exactly to the required volume flows, eliminating flow loss from pressure regulation.
The motor is still as soon as no hydraulic function is active, with no heat produced in the system. This state is achieved several times, even during an automatic cycle. For example, the servo pump is stationary if the mechanical axes, longitudinal feed, or rotation on a bending machine is active. This reduces the overall duty cycle of the pump to help save energy.
