Miniature modular encoders suited for many motion control applications

Heidenhain offers the ERO 1200/1400 series of modular optical rotary encoders without integral bearing. The noncontact encoders are suitable for motion control use on dynamic stages and machines in the general automation and semiconductor industries, such as pick-and-place machines. They also are used on air bearing spindles and servomotors in robotic applications.

With onboard interpolation, the encoders can achieve resolutions of 37,500 signal periods per revolution, facilitating use on high-resolution viscosimeters or portable mass spectrometers. They allow axial motion up to ±0.0007 in., providing room for thermal growth of motors or machines.
