Schuler Automation shows transfer systems in operation

Visitors from Germany and abroad attended a Technology Day held by Schuler Automation in Hessdorf, Germany, in mid-April. As well as receiving information on the latest developments in part transport, they were able to observe eight different transfer systems in operation, including the new Intra Trans.

To save space, the new system works within the press rather than through the press window. Parts are transported by carriages mounted on the transfer rails, so the full width of the window is available for material feeding, unrestricted by the transfer rails.

Each carriage can be moved individually, allowing varying distances between stations. Material can be fed from both sides. Suitable for retrofitting on existing presses, the system needs the same space as the progressive die.
