Praxair to fund welding scholarships through AWS program and SkillsUSA competition

Praxair Inc., Danbury, Conn., has announced that its global giving program will fund more than $200,000 in scholarships over the next five years for AWS and SkillsUSA. The scholarships will support the education and hands-on training of student welders in the U.S.

Through its Praxair Distribution Inc. (PDI) subsidiary, the company is a supplier of welding, cutting, specialty, and medical gases and welding-related equipment and supplies.

"Working together with these organizations will help Praxair provide targeted support to welding and metal fabrication students as they prepare for rewarding careers in the industries and communities we serve," said John Panikar, president of PDI.
