Maytag brand, HomeAid America partner to provide shelter to homeless

More than 630,000 people are homeless on any given night in the U.S., according to the National Alliance to End Homelessness. To support those in need, Whirlpool Corp.’s Maytag® brand, Benton Harbor, Mich., has teamed up with HomeAid America to help supply temporary shelter for homeless families working to get back on their feet.

As part of the partnership, Maytag will contribute kitchen and laundry appliances and funding to HomeAid, a nonprofit organization that builds and renovates multiunit shelters for America's temporary homeless families and individuals.

To kick off the brand's support of HomeAid, Maytag appliances will be installed in eight apartments being added to the New Vista Shelter in Fullerton, Calif.
