LAI Intl. opens new manufacturing location in Arizona

LAI Intl., a supplier of precision components and subassemblies for OEMs, has announced the opening of its new contract manufacturing location in Tempe, Ariz. The plant expands the company's footprint in the western U.S. and increases its production capabilities for precision-machined components.

LAI has combined its three Arizona facilities—its manufacturing plants in Phoenix and Tucson, and corporate headquarters in Scottsdale—into the 32,400-sq.-ft. Tempe facility, expanding the size of its production space in the state by one-third. The company operates additional manufacturing plants in Minneapolis; Westminster, Md.; and Scarborough, Maine.

The company has added EDM capabilities. Other processes include advanced waterjet and laser machining in separate production areas, as well as secondary machining operations, including metal fabrication and finishing areas, a tool shop, and a larger assembly area.
