AK Steel's Coshocton Works recognized for outstanding safety performance

AK Steel's Coshocton Works in Ohio has been recognized for outstanding safety performance by the Ohio Bureau of Workers' Compensation, Division of Safety and Hygiene. The recognition is part of a collaborative safety awareness program established by the Coshocton County Safety Council and Chamber of Commerce.

The plant received the 100% Award for Safety for operating the entire year of 2013 without any lost-time injuries or illnesses. The plant also received a Special Award for Safety for operating 1,969,106 labor-hours without a lost-time injury between Aug. 5, 2011, and Dec. 31, 2013. In addition, the plant received the Group Safety Award for having the lowest incident rate in the industrial group.

AK Steel produces flat-rolled carbon, stainless, and electrical steels, primarily for automotive, infrastructure, and manufacturing, construction, and electrical power generation and distribution markets.
