Okay Industries acquires Reliance Laser
Okay Industries Inc., New Britain, Conn., has expanded its laser cutting, welding, marking, and surface treatment capabilities with the acquisition of Reliance Laser, Agawam, Mass. The companies will integrate operations at Okay Medical Products Mfg. in Berlin, Conn.
Reliance Laser brings Okay a new technology that combines a 6-axis, CNC, precision, automatic Swiss lathe with a fully enabled laser cutting module. The equipment can create slots as narrow as 0.0015 in. and small holes with no tool wear.
Okay is a contract manufacturing company for medical, automotive, firearms/defense, and industrial markets, providing metal stamping, CNC machining, laser welding, automated assembly, design engineering, and supply chain management. Reliance manufactures medical components for implantable devices and surgical instruments using laser tube cutting, welding, marking, and surface treatment.
