Evana Automation to deliver fourth of seven assembly and test systems to Tier 1 supplier

Evana Automation Specialists, Evansville, Ind., is building the fourth of seven custom assembly and test systems for a Tier 1 automotive supplier facility in Anting, China. The system, used in the production of automobile steering assemblies, provides three main functions: ball nut assembly; fastening of the ball nut to a rack; and noise, vibration, and functional testing of the final assembled part.

Data such as torque values, ball selections, part measurements, lash readings, performance data, and test readings is tagged to the serial number of the final part and saved in a database for future accessibility. The system is scheduled for delivery in June.
