die bushing

Definitions

  1. The portion of the die set which combines with the ground pins to maintain the precise positioning between the punch holder and the die shoe. The die bushing is pressed into the punch holder; the ground pins are pressed into the die shoe. As the punch and die come together, the ground pins engage the corresponding die bushing.
