Sawing machines feature enhanced speed

Peddinghaus Corp. has introduced a series of machines that incorporate new speed sawing technology to help manufacturers cut steel shapes faster while increasing throughput.

The technology, developed with Lenox, comprises three design components: a 20-HP motor that powers a 2 5/8-in. blade at a 2-degree attack angle. According to the company, band sawing structural steel sections has enabled fabricators in the steel construction industry to increase annual tonnage by a minimum of 20 percent.
