Isotropic steel suitable for high-loads, equalized strength requirements

Ovako has enhanced the purity of its IQ (isotropic-quality) steel, allowing it to be used for parts that are subjected to high loads and where equalized strength is required in all areas of the component.

The steel is suitable for rolling bearings, gearbox components, and advanced fuel injection systems for car engines. The company says the steel provides up to 20 percent higher lengthwise fatigue than regular steel, and construction steel's crosswise impact strength can improve up to four times.
