Unison supplies all-electric tube bending machine to Boeing

Unison, located in Scarsborough, U.K., has supplied a second all-electric tube bending machine to Boeing Integrated Defense Systems.

The Breeze 20 system can make precision bends on alloy and aluminum tubes with diameters of up to 3/4 in. It was shipped in mid-July and installed at Boeing's rotorcraft manufacturing facility near Philadelphia. The system is used to fabricate hydraulic and fuel line components for CH/MH-47 Chinook helicopters, as well as for the V-22 Osprey tiltrotor aircraft.

The bending machine design allows it to shape tubes with complex bends and very short distances between bends in one automated operation.
