Metal filament producer Virtual Foundry now offers borosilicate glass

The Virtual Foundry makes materials that allow users to 3D-print parts from metal, ceramic, and glass with a standard filament (FDM/FFF)-style printer—the most common style of 3D printer on the market. No special printer hardware or upgrades are required.

The list of filaments the company offers include aluminum, copper, bronze, high-carbon iron, Inconel, stainless steel, titanium, silicon carbide, and—now—borosilicate (Pyrex).

Before sintering, the material consists of roughly 73% glass, by mass. Once fired, the final part is 100% glass.

Besides an FFF printer, notes Virtual Foundry, users will need a kiln or sintering furnace, refractory container (crucible), and sintering refractory ballast.
