Raise3D, a global supplier of plastic and fiber-reinforced filament-style 3D printers, offers a metal-filament system. The MetalFuse is an end-to-end, fully integrated in-house printing system that Raise3D collaborated on with BASF Forward AM and that uses BASF metal filaments.
The MetalFuse comprises the Forge1 printer and D200-E catalytic debinding furnace and S200-C sintering furnace used to postprocess green parts, similar to how the MIM (metal injection molding) process works. Parts made by MetalFuse reportedly have a density up to 97% of wrought iron’s density.
The Forge1 features a build volume of 300 by 300 by 300 mm and runs BASF Ultrafuse 316L and Ultrafuse 17-4 PH filament. The system comes with metal-specific ideaMaker slicer software, which is compatible with MIM equipment.
