High-definition measuring system inspects short, thin tubes, wires

TubeInspect HD from AICON offers 3-D inspection of short, thin tubes and wires with diameters from 0.039 in. to 0.394 in. It checks bends, part lengths, and end-to-end distance. The measuring field comprises a volume of 17.72 in. by 15.75 in. by 7.87 in.

The system uses eight digital cameras positioned close to the workpiece, each with a 2-megapixel resolution. It employs a glass reference that is stable with regard to shape and temperature. For determining sheath tolerance, measuring accuracy is &#plusmin;0.00098 in. Color-coded measuring results are available within seconds after a gauge check and are displayed on a provided notebook computer.

Because the system is 27.559 in. by 27.559 in. by 35.433 in., it can be placed on a table.
