Coil manipulator facilitates transfer to cart

Green Valley Mfg. Inc. has introduced the Titan 2327, a 12,000-lb.-capacity coil manipulator that allows the operator to safely transfer palletized steel coils to a coil cart. The load deck rotates 90 degrees to invert the coil, and a cart is then positioned under the coil for extraction and placement onto the mandrel of a coil-feed system.

An operator delivers coil to the manipulator via a fork truck, then uses push-button controls to pivot the deck, setting the coil in the upright position. The palletized coil slides on the flat deck and settles into the tapered cradle lining. After a coil cart extracts the coil from the manipulator, the operator rotates the pivoting frame for the next coil.
