Panel bender designed for small-batch production

The 2005 Performer ABT® panel bender from Salvagnini was designed for job shops and for producing a high number of parts per day in small batches. According to the company, setup takes five minutes or less.

ABT is the company's proprietary package of control enhancements that automatically verify sheet thickness; constantly test and compensate for any thermal expansion caused by environmental factors; self-adjusts for springback; and uses algorithms to compensate for material thicknesses and bend profiles.

After an operator places a blank on the bender's worktable, a digitally powered manipulator automatically turns the blank to the proper angle for bending, using the blank notches as reference points.
